Old Trafford
Nicknamed the Theatre of Dreams by Sir Bobby Charlton, Old Trafford is arguably second only to
Wembley Stadium in capacity and tradition, even if the team that play at Old Trafford are probably
better than the one that call Wembley their home. Anyone remember the recent World Cup? Sorry
to remind you.
It’s not just on match days that Manchester United’s home is buzzing with people and activity, it has
become a major tourist attraction for the city of Manchester and draws visitors from all over the
world to see the famous ground where the footballing magic has happened throughout the years.
The Stadium Tour and Museum are an essential for any visitor and even if you are not a big fan of
the Reds there should be something you can take away from the day that makes it worthwhile for
football fans in general to pay it a visit.
It consists of a one hour long guided tour of the stadium and allows you to see behind the scenes
and get places you would never get to see on a match day. The tour visits both the main stands,
the Munich Tunnel Walk (which is a Munich Air disaster memorial), the Player’s lounge , the
player’s dressing rooms and the manager’s dugout. The tour ends at the United Megastore where
multitudes of things Manchester United can be bought. If you can think of it, it is probably there to
buy with a Manchester United logo on. Everything Manchester Utd is available from baby clothes to
personalised gifts and it could be a Man Utd fans idea of Heaven on Earth. The tour pass also allows
you on the day to make unlimited visits to the Museum, displaying exhibitions of the clubs long and
distinguished past and telling the stories of the many great players to have graced Old Trafford’s
turf. Get to see many of the club’s trophies close up on display and imagine how it would feel to lift
that trophy yourself in a red shirt.
Football is big business and Old Trafford in no exception, it caters to conferences and events and
has numerous suites available to hire for weddings and other bespoke events .There is also a day
delegates package put together by the club aimed specifically for the corporate hospitality market.
The Red Cafe is reserved on match days for the club’s hospitality packages but is open to the general
public on non match days, so why not pay it a visit as well and feel like a VIP too.
If it is match day and you want to try and avoid the parking problems or just fancy a beer on
matchday without risking your license , or even just want a relaxed visit to the ground why not let
Minibus in Manchester have all the hassle so you can enjoy your visit to Old Trafford without worry.
