Aintree Racecourse Liverpool
Since 1839 Aintree Racecourse has been the venue for one of the world’s most thrilling and dangerous horse races, the Grand National, a four and a half mile chase which can annually attract worldwide television audiences of more than 600 million viewers. The 16 fences for the race are traditionally made of spruce from the Lake District and test horse and jockey to the limit whilst racing over the two laps of the course, each of which are two and a quarter mile long (3,600 metres). Only two of the fences are not jumped twice, The Chair and the Water jump, which are both on the first lap of the Grand National. If the ground conditions allow the whole of the course can be
inspected closely the morning of the race in an hour long walk of the course allowing visitors to examine close up the famous course and the equally infamous and controversial fences.
Aintree is the North West of England’s premier horse racing venue and since 2007 is also home to the Aintree International Equestrian centre which hosts events throughout the year showcasing all things equine from competitions to trade fairs and boasting 160 permanent stables and
related facilities. There is almost always something being held there to attract tourists and visitors throughout the year. It even has its own 9 hole golf course and floodlit driving range situated in the middle of the centre offering a unique golfing experience.
Aintree Racecourse is fast becoming the complete venue for all occasions. It has undergone a £35 million refurbishment in recent years and the opening of two new complete grandstands which can accommodate 600 people in each has led to increased conferences and events being held there and
providing something different for delegates than the usual conference venue. Aintree is a premier venue able to offer 1st class facilities and create a truly memorable experience for all visitors drawing upon its illustrious heritage in horseracing combined with excellent modern facilities.
This has led to it becoming the venue for corporate hospitality, conferences and events but even becoming a popular choice for weddings in recent years or just an excellent place to have a 1st class day out with friends and family with or without horse racing.
Enjoy a truly memorable experience at Aintree and let us do all the driving …………Swinton travel
