Meet the Drivers

Paul – Transport Manager

Paul is the Transport Manager and it is his job to co-ordinate our fleet of vehicles at all times. Without his vast array of impressive skills, we would probably grind to a halt, so we consider Paul a vital part of the company.

Paul has plenty of previous experience, all of which he puts to great use working for Miniubs in Manchester:

  • He trained as a Ford vehicle technician for 8 years
  • He has an NVQ Level 2 Taxi Driving qualification and spent 6 years working as a Manchester taxi driver. As a result he has an excellent knowledge of Manchester and the surrounding areas
  • 2 Years PSV Driver Cat D1, CPC trained
  • He spent 2 years as an events/transport manager

On a personal level, Paul is also organised, friendly, and very trustworthy. He takes great pride in his job as Transport Manager  and he firmly believes that excellent customer service is crucial to the success of the company.

Ian – 16 seat senior minibus driver

Ian has been with our company since day one. He has brought a wealth of experiance and qualifications to Minibus in Manchester from his previous years experiance in the passenger transport industry.

  • 15 years working for National  Express
  • 10 years driving service buses Manchester Airport
  • 6 years minibus driving for Salford Social Services

    • Ian is our senior 16 seater minibus driver and mainly deals with our account and corprate clients, especially on long distance trips, as his vast knowledge of the Uk roads is second to none. Ian takes his role wiithin Minibus in Manchester very seriousley, and we challange you to find a more reliable and professional driver. Customer satisfation is a key goal for Ian and his impecable work record and customer feedback clearly shows his goals are met !

Pete – Supervisor for Disabled Transport

Pete is the Supervisor for Disabled Transport and he co-ordinates all aspects of our disabled transport section. One of the most important services we are proud to offer is our excellent transportation service for disabled clients and we take pride in being able to provide vehicles especially equipped to handle the particular needs of disabled passengers, or those with any kind of mobility problems.

Pete has lots of relevant experience, all of which he puts to great use working for the Manchester minibus team:

  • 20 years Class 1 HGV licence
  • 10 years experience driving specialist minibuses with disabled access in Manchester
  • NVQ level 2 Taxi Driving; Midas trained

Pete is an enormously patient individual and he is used to working with clients who have a wide range of disabilities. Nothing is too much trouble for Pete and no matter how complex your requirements are, he will be delighted to help make your experience with us a happy one.

Dave – 8 seat Minibus Driver

Dave is the regular driver of our 8 seater minibus Manchester. Like all the staffl, Dave has a wealth of experience and is able to bring a variety of excellent qualities to the Manchester minibus team.

In his younger days, Dave owned a very successful roofing business. He ran his company for more than 25 years and during that time, he travelled the length and breadth of the country, although one of his most famous jobs was a little closer to home—his company put the roof on Old Trafford!

Dave is now semi-retired, but because he would rather be meeting new people than watching daytime TV. He particualy enjoys escorting visitors around the Manchester area. He loves giving his tourist spiel and if you want to learn lots of interesting facts about the local attractions, Dave is the perfect driver for you!

Nick – 16 seat Minibus Driver

Nick is the regular driver of the 16 seat Miniubs in Manchester. He is an invaluable member of our team and has years of experience of driving in the local area.

Nick’s relevant experience prior to joining the minibus Manchester team includes:

  • 22 years driving refuse lorries around the east Manchester and Tameside region
  • 5 years as a Manchester taxi driver
  • 6 years PSV driver Cat D1, CPC Trained

Through his long career spent driving various types of commercial vehicles in and around Manchester, Nick has acquired a vast local knowledge of Manchester. This stands him in good stead during periods of congestion as he can usually find the quickest way of transporting his passengers from A to B without sitting in traffic jams for hours.

As well as his ample driving experience, Nick is reliable, disciplined, and a senior World Masters Judo Champion.

Mark – 16 seat Minibus Driver

Mark is the youngest member of the minibus Manchester team; he is also the newest member of our team, but he still has lots of relevant experience and already he is proving to be very popular with some of our regular clients.

Like all the Swinton Travel drivers, Mark brings to the job a variety of previous experience including:

  • PSV Driver Cat D1, CPC trained
  • An excellent knowledge of the local area

Mark does not work for Miniubs in Manchester full time as he also runs his own landscaping and gardening business. He loves being outdoors, but unfortunately the great British weather is such that he is forced to work for us from time to time in order to earn a decent living. However, he is happy to offer horticultural advice to any clients interested in gardening and if you are struggling with your roses, Mark is the driver for you.

Anne – Health and Safety Manager

Minibus in Manchester take health and safety issues very seriously and Anne is the  health and safety manager. It is Anne’s job to ensure that Miniubs in Manchester is fully compliant with all aspects of current health and safety legislation at all times.

Anne has over 30 years experience of working as a fully trained NEBOSH health and safety manager in many different industries. A large part of her job is to ensure that every single vehicle in the  fleet meets the necessary VOSA safety standards. She is also responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of driver training and ensuring we have the necessary risk assessments and polices in place. We also have a strict policy of undertaking full minibus inspections every six weeks.

Jane – Account Co-ordinator

Jane is the account co-ordinator and she is primarily responsible for looking after our corporate and school clients. Jane has more than 20 years experience working as a development co-ordinator for a leading distributer in the UK and she brings lots of desirable qualities to Miniubs in Manchester, including efficiency and a friendly demeanour.

Jane enjoys dealing with our regular clients and she has built up a great relationship with many of them. If you are looking for the personal touch when booking a Manchester minibus, Jane is friendly and trustworthy. Nothing is too much trouble for Jane and no matter how complex or convoluted your requirements are, Jane is polite and helpful at all times.

Many of our regular clients prefer to have a single point of contact when making bookings and Jane has all the attributes required for the sometimes demanding job of account co-ordinator.

If this law is not upheld the trip will be terminated immediately and the full amount of the booking is to be paid. Customers must book the correct size vehicle for their requirements as excessive amounts of luggage will not be allowed if the driver deems it un safe. Minibus in Manchester will not be held responsible for the customer holding on their possession any illegal substance or goods within their vehicles. The customer making the booking is responsible for the conduct of all passengers in the event of any problems they will be the point of contact for the driver. If the driver feels any behaviour is causing a risk to safety the journey will be aborted and the full amount payable.

The Price Agreed With Client.

The cost of the service is agreed by the company Minibus in Manchester and the customer at the point of booking. This can be agreed verbally or by e mail. If the customer requires changes to the agreed booking, the company will try to accommodate, however can not guarantee this is always possible.

Deposits

A deposit of £20.00 is required on all bookings, this may not be necessary at the companies discretion.

Cancellation.

The deposit is NOT refundable under any circumstances once a booking is agreed.

CANCELATION FEES - 21 Days prior to travel 50% of the total booking amount is required

7 Days prior to travel 100% off the total booking amount is required

We will send a request for payment in the form of an invoice.  This is to be paid within 14 days by the person who booked the minibus.

The person agreeing to the booking will be charged for any damage/vandalism. This will be in the form of an invoice to be paid in 14 days. If you or a member of your party is sick in any of our vehicles, Minibus in Manchester will charge £50 to £100 for cleaning.  The customer again will be invoiced. (Unless payment is received by the driver on the day) This is to be paid within 14working days. Alcohol is not allowed under any circumstances, if customers choose to ignore this the trip will be terminated. The full amount will be payable by the person who booked the trip.
