Freedom from Selection Exhibition at BLANKSPACE

For an interesting exhibition that is a little different from anything you might have seen before, book a minibus Manchester to take you and your family to the BLANKSPACE, Blank Media Collective’s new art hub in Manchester. The Freedom from Selection is only the second exhibition to take place at the venue and features a fascinating collection of artworks created by a group of five contemporary local artists. Each piece explores the field of human biology using various types of media from photographs to light and sound.

From the work of Da Vinci to the thought provoking exhibits of Dr Gunther von Hagens, the relationship between art and science has always been a complex and deeply experimental one and this exhibition offers a whole new take on the way that modern artists respond to human biology.

Featured works include a personal interpretation by artist Sue Nicholson on how migraines affect the body plus a moving image piece that explores the stereotypical ideal of Western woman.

The Freedom from Selection exhibition in Manchester will be open from 25 February until 6 March, so if you would like to broaden your artistic horizons go along and check out the absorbing and sometimes shocking works of art.
